Go Like the Wind Montessori School Reviews

This school is amazing. Knowing that I am getting a high level of education is very important to me as well as my family. I agree that building is a bit dated, but it makes the school feel more approachable. The classroom I work in feels almost like a home to me now and I have only been in it for half of the school year! You can be free with opinions and creativity. Along with the building itself, the grounds are wonderful. Acres over acres of land surround the building. I am very grateful to have spent so many years here. Truly a great school for students as well as parents and family.

I have read some people commenting about the school facility being dated. I am shocked that people find the looks of a building more important than the quality of education. If these parents valued education than they would that know this school rocks!! There is no getting around it, this school is special and the teachers are wonderful. The director of the school is awesome. He is always available, approachable, and excited about his school. You can see this by all the family involvement programs that they put on. The teachers really care about the children and there education. They all seem highly trained. My main concern is education and this school provides the best! They do not treat kids like babies, they treat them with respect and value their true potential and make them believe in themselves. You really cant understand until you visit this place and feel it out for yourself. We had to move so I am no longer in the Ann Arbor area, but I can honestly say that this is the best school my children have ever been to. I am sad that I had to leave.

GLTW is Montessori school at its finest. The teachers are well-trained and loving. They really do care about each child and each family. It is a wonderfully diverse environment where children are taught to respect themselves, each other, and their surroundings. Our daughter is just finishing second grade and is absolutely thriving at GLTW and loving school. We have been active in the PTSA and have found a community of families that we are happy to be a part of. Each of the teachers in the enrichment classes (art, Spanish, music, and gym) are wonderful as well. They go out of their way to make a connection to each child, to support them in the subject, and to encourage them to grow regardless of how much/little talent they have for that subject. This is a fanstastic school for academic success, social development, and personal growth.

As a guardian of a preprimary student,my experience has only been rewarding and positive. My child is in a classroom with highly qualified, compassionate teachers where she not only feels at home, but is challenged to preserver when learning may be more difficult. I have observed this child blossom from a shy, frightened child into a confident, considerate, proud achiever. She has not only learned academics, and self-discipline, she has learned how to concentrate and how to complete tasks. What more can I ask for? My experience with the principal of the school has been one of true compassion and professionalism. Because of our families current financial status we are unable to afford to pay any where near full tuition. Mr. Collier knows of our circumstance and granted our child a substantial scholarship, without which our child would not be able to attend. We are truly grateful to GLTW & Mr. Collier!

Go Like the Wind Montessori is a fabulous school. The teachers and staff are experienced, knowledgeable, professional and caring. The administrative staff, the principal and director of admissions, listen and respond to parent concerns. Although the building is dated, the classrooms are lovely (well outfitted with Montessori materials) and the grounds are stunning. The school is on 40 acres and has a wonderful nature center. The diversity at the school is amazing. We love the social events that the PTSA puts on. We hope our children are at this school for a long time!

This is a genuine Montessori school that practices and delivers true Montessori principles. It is small & out of the way but once inside you can feel the peace. A nuturing enviroment where love & respect for all children are evident. The Principal & team of talented teachers are humble & do not take credit easily. To watch a Montessori classroom in action at GLTW is fascinating. A room of motivated & self directed children all doing a different task in a calm & happy way is amazing, Personally, it was great to find a school that places emphasis on spiritual & social growth, individual expression, ethnic & cultural diversity etc. Yes, i would like my child to reach her academic potential but I would firstly like her to have the confidence, character & conscience to express a mind of her own. GLTW creates individuals. We made a good choice.

Principal does not care about what is best for the students, but is only looking at his bottom line as this is his business. They do not treat their good teachers very well and the leave. Facilities are very run down (old public school) and does not have adequate space for their growth plans. Their are many better schools and montessoris in the area.

This is a school dedicated to the Montessori method and to continual program improvements. The academic expectations are high and the talented staff is very student oriented. Your child can be respected here for who they are, where they are from, where they are going, and how they are growing. A family's voice is important to them and a family is welcomed into the community. School activities keep families in mind and no one is left out of the social fun. I can't say enough about the positive and energetic environment here.

Great school, faculty is very experienced. School is managed by second generation Montessori family with many many years of experience. Extremely diverse family population (over 43 countries represented!), first rate arts & music programs as well. PTSA is VERY organized and involved. Many extra programs available. Highly recommended!
