“As with all schools there are good points and not so good. There are teachers who love the children and put forth their best effort and there are others who have some room for improvement. At NCCS there are some exceptional teachers and there are some who should be updated in their skills both in how to teach and how to relate to others. There is not much room for input from parents or students/alumni. Most decisions are made by a few people, there is no parent board. The curriculum is pretty good as far as writing and literary skills but unfortunately lop-sided as the math and science scores have often been low (although some teachers seem to be working to correct the math scores). A career counseling class would be helpful, but it does give young folks the tools to think on their own with the rhetoric/logic studies.”

Those students who need additional academic challenges are given them, and those who need extra assistance will find a protective, encouraging environment in which to grow and overcome their struggles. Secondary students are taught by a committed, highly qualified group of teachers in an enviroment that encourages spiritual growth. Our children have been at NCCS for nine years and our oldest will graduate this year. Our only regret is that we did not enroll our children earlier!”

“A really good school. I would say prepares it students well for college and the teachers cared for the students. The academic programs were more challenging for High Schoolers than the average class,for example English instead of studying verb/subject/adjectiv they did a lot of writing and were graded on there knowledge of grammar. They did not have enough extra curricular activities for me. Parent involvement was welcome.”

“Challenging classical old-fashioned education. Expect to be an involved parent. Fair amount of discipline although I have never known of any problems with students. The environment is very modest. No uniforms but there is a dress code. Tuition is a bit costly but worth the sacrifice.”
